Financial literacy

Students participating in budgeting and saving workshop as part of a financial literacy series given by the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Next workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22nd at lunch.

Prom tickets are now on sale!

If you’re interested in attending the MPC Prom, tickets are on sale starting TODAY downstairs. Welcome to Hollywood will take place on Thursday, June 6th from 6 pm-11 pm at the Liberty Grand. The ticket cost of $85 ($90 for guests) includes appetizers, a three-course meal, dancing, and a keepsake photo booth. Tickets are on sale all week in the MPC foyer.

SOLE Alternative Arts Gala

Join us for the 6th annual SOLE Alternative Art Show, featuring the visual arts, photography, and graphic design of our student artists. Opening night is Thursday, May 23 from 6:30-9:30, and the show will be up in Fresh Paint Studio + Cafe all week.

Principal’s Honours Tea

The Principal’s Honours Tea celebrates SOLE students with outstanding academic achievement, as well as those who  have contributed in positive ways to the school. We’re proud to share the joy of this occasion with students and their families! Congratulations to all of our award recipients!

SOLE Open House

Our Spring Open House invited interested students and parents to see what SOLE has to offer. We opened our doors to allow students and their families to meet the school community, check out course offerings, and tour our classrooms. A huge thanks to our student volunteers who are such fantastic ambassadors for our program!

Game Design workshop

Rachel’s Game Design class participated in an exciting workshop led by TVO Kids game developer Andrea Luc and Sia Joushaghani, currently pursuing graduate studies in Game Design at York University. Students collaborated to develop games based on randomized themes, mechanics, environment, and genre. Thanks to Andrea and Sia for sharing your experiences and expertise with us!

SOLE Delegation at the TDSB

Yesterday, a delegation of SOLE teachers, students, and alumni traveled to the TDSB headquarters to give deputations to the Governance and Policy Committee, which is currently reviewing its policy on alternative schools. We spoke about the importance of communities like ours to fostering student wellness, equity, and achievement. Thanks to the trustees and TDSB staff for taking the time to listen to us!

Anyone under 18 must bring their parent or guardian to the registration.
