The Alternative Schools Community Advisory Committee is meeting tonight from 7-8:30 pm in the Thompson Room in Monarch Park (first floor). Anyone interested in alternative schools in the TDSB, including staff, students, parents, and admin, are welcome to attend!

Hey SOLE! Monarch Park is having their first ever runway show this year and they want interested people from SOLE as well. They’re looking for designers, models, and photographers/videographers. Anyone interested in participating should come to a meeting in the Tech Lab (room 316) this Wednesday after school. See you there!

Thukpa is a noodle soup popular in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. Rachel’s World Cultures class tried it out. The results were delicious, and perfect for a cool fall afternoon.

Rachel’s Visual Arts class spent a day at the AGO, visiting a variety of exhibits covering everything from political satire to Inuit sculpture to mail art. Students had some great conversations about what constitutes great art, what hangs in galleries and why, and what inspires artists to create the work that they make.
