Skills Ontario presentation
Did you know that skilled tradespeople can make $60,000-$80,000 a year, and many make upwards of more than $100,000? Or that skills tradespeople are in such demand that the government will pay you to complete some programs? Or that you can get an education through a paid apprenticeship?
Today, Amy Kearns from Skills Ontario visited SOLE to give a presentation on opportunities in the skilled trades and technologies. Students learned about education pathways, career options, and all of the great things that these careers can offer to students.

Happy Holidays!
Holiday drive update
The season was made all the sweeter by meeting with the Syrian refugee family who inspired our holiday drive. They would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and students who raised money and donated food and clothing to make their lives a little warmer, and were touched by our school’s generosity of spirit.
Holiday party
After a chill morning of yoga and meditation, we celebrated the upcoming winter break with snacks, holiday music, gingerbread decoration, and a roaring fire (on the computer monitors)!
Have a safe and happy holiday (and don’t forget that there are still two more days of school left!).
Claymation by our students!
Check out this compilation video of stop-motion animation from our visit to the REEL Asian Film Festival. Students from SOLE and other schools worked with a volunteer filmmaker from the Toronto Animated Image Society. Can you spot your segment?
Journey to the stars!
SOLE and Greenwood students launched into space today with a visit from the Mobile Planetarium! This unique experience allowed students to explore our star system and beyond from the comfort of the gym, guided by award-winning science journalist Peter McMahon. Far out!
