It’s just over a week until the SOLE End-of-Year Arts Gala at Fresh Paint Studio! Come to our opening night on May 25 (7-10 pm) to see the best of SOLE student work, including painting, printmaking, photography, and graphic design. The show will be up until June 1st.

The first ever SOLE Alternative Prom will be held on Thursday, June 8th! Tickets are $25, and will be available for sale at lunch in the SOLE office starting Monday. If you bring a guest from outside the school, you must sign a permission form for them. Get your ticket soon!
The Honours Tea celebrates the achievements of our students who have earned Honours level marks, averaging 80% in their courses, as well as students whose hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication has made a positive impact on the school or in their own lives. We share the joy of this occasion with the families of the students at a reception in the SOLE office. Congratulations to this semester’s recipients!
Dan’s Politics class started a re-enactment of the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Students divided up into American and Russian teams, with each taking on the role of a historical figure, to strategize a way to obtain their country’s objectives. Good luck, everyone! Try not to start World War III.

Karin’s Drama class hosted a mime workshop by Etenem Oton from STATUES ALIVE.
Etenem says:
I don’t know where to begin! I have to say I had one of the best times ever with a group of students. Your class was very attentive, polite, creative and fun. Please let them know that i had a wonderful time teaching them and I was extremely proud of them. I didn’t want to leave lol!”

Dan’s Grade 12 Politics class put themselves in the shoes of some prominent World War II figures. Students were tasked with advising President Truman on whether to drop the atom bombs on Japan in August, 1945, and reenacted the 1938 Munich Agreement.
